PaarlOnline Remote Backup Offsite Services (PORBOS) was introduced to offer clients the ability to backup their crucial data as well to offer offsite storage of data in the event of theft or destruction (e.g. fire). With this service data get stored through the existing wireless network infrastructure on cluster servers in our data centre. All types of data can be backed up which include normal files, Outlook, Pastel, most types of databases and servers.

 

Automatic Backup

Upon acceptance of the service our helpdesk staff will remotely control your pc to install the initial backup client software. After this the backup will be performed automatically every day without requiring human effort. These jobs will be configured to run after 21h00 daily and therefore you will have to keep your computer switched on during the night.  The restore operation can be done in just a few clicks and is under your full control. The software is compatible with all Windows, Linux and Mac-OS operating systems. The bandwidth the backup software uses will not form part of your monthly cap and is included with the prices indicated.

 

The backup software proactively informs system administrators and the client (by email) of successful backups any/or errors likely to occur in the backup server and provides a complete log file for trouble shooting, thereby minimizing the need for emergency technical support and maintenance.

 

Continuous Data Protection

Advanced Continuous Data Protection (CDP) technology captures every version of the data a file that has been saved to your hard drive. With CDP, even if your hard drive crashes completely after you have worked for a full day without invoking backup manually yourself, the saved copy of your working files will still be intact on the backup server. It provides a highly dependable means of real-time, continuous data protection for servers, desktops, and laptops effortlessly and transparently, without any human intervention.
